Survey into the professional integration of doctoral students - class of 2006
This inquiry, focussing on the 280 INRIA doctoral students who completed their thesis in 2006, reveals a particularly positive outlook. On average, 18 months after completion of their thesis, 99% of the doctoral graduates now hold posts that are consistent with their career path: 30% are researchers or research lecturers, 31% are engineers and 28% hold post-doc placements. 60 Positions in International PhD Program - Hannover Biomedical Research School, Germany

Hannover Biomedical Research School, as part of Hannover Medical School (MHH), invites applications for the above PhD studentships, to commence in October 2009.

The three-year study programs, taught in English, are aimed at post-graduates in Medicine, Veterinary Medicine as well as those from Life Science fields. The PhD program “Regenerative Sciences” is also open to students from the various disciplines of Materials Sciences. As well as working on a 3-year research project, students also attend seminars, lab and soft-skill courses, congresses, symposia and summer schools. Successful candidates will be awarded a PhD, alternatively Dr. rer. nat. Scholarships are to be fully funded by the DFG (Excellence Initiative), MHH, partner institutes and their respective departments.

We are looking for highly-motivated candidates who have an active interest in one of the fields associated with one or more of the programs on offer. Excellent written and spoken English skills are required. With nearly two thirds of our students coming from outside Germany, international applicants are welcome.

Description : The Inflammation & Cancer Laboratory at the Department of Physiology & NUS Immunology Program at the National University of Singapore is seeking applications for Ph.D students. Candidates will work on research projects focused on Inflammation and Cancer or Immune regulation and development. Qualified candidates should possess a recent B.Sc. or Masters in Immunology or Biochemistry or related field. Experimental background in molecular biology, cell biology, immunology, and/or pharmacology is strongly recommended. Importantly, foreign applicants should have taken the GRE and obtained a minimum of 1300/4.5 to be eligible. Please do not enquire or apply if you have not taken your GRE. There are 2 different types of scholarships available. The NGS scholarship is very prestigious and fully funded. The NUS scholarship is on stipend and also fully funded.
